SUSAN ALT

SUSAN ALT Susan Alt is currently the Vice President of Customer and Industry Relations for Mack and Volvo Trucks North America - an appointment made as of Jan. 1, 2010.

Prior to this role she served as the Vice President, Business Development for Volvo and Mack Trucks, Inc where she managed the relocation of Mack Truck's Headquarters from Allentown, PA to Greensboro, NC (inauguration held Sep. 3, 2009).

Previous to this assignment she served as the President of Volvo Logistics of the Americas, a Volvo Group company that provides supply chain services to both Volvo and non-Volvo companies, managing $350 million transportation spend in the US and nearly $1.5B globally. She was the first woman to run a North American division for AB Volvo.

Now in her 22nd year with the Volvo Group, Susan has lived and worked in both Sweden and the US in functions ranging from Engineering, E-commerce, and Marketing.

While she holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a MBA from Wake Forest University, an especially proud accomplishment was her earning of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). This allows her to drive the "big rigs" whenever there is an opportunity (and for her kids to tell friends their mom is a truck driver).

Susan, whose age is "somewhere between 40 and 50", currently resides in High Point, NC with her husband Chuck, an attorney with Wyatt Early Harris and Wheeler, and their 2 fun-loving children Asher (14 yrs) and Adam (12 yrs).

PETER HALL

Peter Hall Peter Hall joined Export Development Canada (EDC) in November 2004. He has over 20 years of experience in domestic and international economic analysis and forecasting. Mr. Hall is responsible for overseeing economic and political risk analysis at EDC and the company’s information centre. In addition to advising senior management at EDC, Mr. Hall is a featured speaker at conferences across the country, and regularly appears in television, radio and print media commenting on recent economic developments and implications for the outlook.

Prior to joining EDC, Mr. Hall directed the economic forecasting activities of the Conference Board of Canada. He also served on the economic forecasting staff of a major Canadian utility. Mr. Hall has served as a member of roundtables on the economies of the Eurozoneand the Asia-Pacific region.

Mr. Hall is immediate past president of the Ottawa Economics Association, a 300-member local association of professional economists, and has served on the board of the Canadian Association for Business Economics. Mr. Hall has degrees in economics from Carleton University and the University of Toronto.

MARY C. HOLCOMB

Mary C. Holcomb Mary Collins Holcomb is Associate Professor of Logistics at The University of Tennessee. She holds B.S., MBA, and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Tennessee. Her professional career involved some eighteen years at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in transportation research and policy issues for the U.S. Departments of Energy, Transportation, and Defense.

Dr. Holcomb's background also consists of various industry experience with the former Burlington Northern Railroad, General Motors, and Milliken & Company. She is a principal researcher in one of the longest running annual studies - Logistics and Supply Chain Trends and Issues - that has been conducted for 19 years.

Dr. Holcomb's research has appeared in the Journal of Business Logistics, Transportation Journal, the International Journal of Logistics Management, and Supply Chain Management Review. She is the former editor of the Transportation Energy Data Book, and the author and co-author of numerous reports and articles in the area of transportation policy and logistics systems design.

RICHARD KUNST

Richard Kunst is the president and CEO of Kunst Art of Solutions. He has an extensive background in manufacturing, production planning, and Lean Enterprise methodologies. His prior positions in executive roles and ownership roles include Warner Entertainment, Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Stackpole, Kromet, GM, Cami, among others including living in Japan for formal training in the Toyota Production System. He has fully embraced the Toyota philosophy, and has worked to apply the concepts holistically across all aspects of an organization in pursuit of Enterprise excellence. His passion is to unleash the potential within organizations using Lean tools and techniques on the shop floor and in admin areas.

PAUL D. LARSON

PAUL D. LARSON Paul D. Larson, Ph.D. is the CN Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. He is also Head of the SCM Department and Director of the Transport Institute. The Institute for Supply Management (ISM), formerly National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM), funded Dr. Larson's doctoral dissertation, which won the 1991 Academy of Marketing Science/ Alpha Kappa Psi award. From 1990 to 1996, he taught marketing and retailing at the University of Alberta. After that, Professor Larson taught purchasing, logistics and SCM at the University of Nevada from 1996 to 2001 and at Iowa State University from 2001 to 2004.

Paul has published over 50 articles in leading academic journals, and has made numerous presentations at academic and practitioner conferences. He has consulted and conducted executive seminars, in Europe, North and South America, Australia, the Caribbean and China, on logistics, transportation and SCM. Dr. Larson serves on the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of Supply Chain Management and International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management. He is a former Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Logistics. His current research interests include inland ports, northern transportation, sustainable transportation, supply chain risk management and humanitarian logistics.

ROGER McKNIGHT

Roger McKNIGHT Roger is En-Pro's Senior Petroleum Analyst, and one of Canada's leading energy experts. With over 25 years experience in the oil industry, Roger has worked in senior marketing management positions responsible for national and international accounts with Texaco and Esso. His tenure with the oil companies included the establishment of the pricing of all fuels to major consumers in the transportation and manufacturing sectors on a national and international basis.

In addition, Roger was the originator of the cardlock concept of marketing on-road diesel that is now the predominant purchase method of diesel in Canada. Roger's knowledge of the oil industry in North America and pricing structures has resulted in his expertise being sought as a commentator by local, national, and international media.
